Annuel Exhibition at the Brisbane Botanical Garden

Our annual Sogetsu Ikebana Exhibition took place last weekend at the Botanical Gardens in Brisbane. More than 45 stunning and highly artistic arrangements were on display, each one unique and beautiful in its own way.

This year's exhibition celebrated the approaching 100th anniversary of Sogetsu Ikebana, which was founded in 1927 by Sofu Teshigahara. Each participant selected one of the headmaster-areas from the Teshigahara family—Sofu, Kasumi, Hiroshi, or Akane—and created an arrangement reflecting the spirit and artistic vision of their chosen area.

The exhibition attracted more visitors than any of our previous events over the years. The workshops were extremely well attended, and the demonstrations, held twice daily, were also a great success, drawing enthusiastic audiences throughout the weekend.
