Last Class at Atkinson Road

On the last day of our Spring Ikebana term, we worked with bamboo. I still had some bamboo left from my previous project, so I encouraged the ladies to create their own bamboo arrangements. For that they had to use a saw and a chisel — tools most of them had never used before. Some are in their forties, others in their seventies, and I was especially impressed by their determination. Even our most delicate member insisted on doing everything herself — and she did it beautifully!

It was a lovely way to finish our time at the studio on Atkinson Road. From November, we will meet at the old church in Bli Bli, which may be more convenient for some of our students.

This will be my last post for a few weeks as we head into our spring break. I will also be travelling to India on a personal pilgrimage. We meet again on 11. November at our new location.

Wishing everyone a wonderful spring break!
